Developing in Leadership

Starting with "Character"

broken image

Leadership starts and ends with "Character!" It begins by being willing to learning from all of life's situations in which a person finds themselves. Being thankful, helpful, cooperative, a team player, and most of all...... a person that means what they say and says what they mean.

They do not need to be right all the time, but they gain knowledge from their circumstances and when opportunity affords itself, they demonstrate the wisdom they've learn from their circumstances.

It is saying: Thank you, excuse me, pardon me, I'm sorry, please forgive me, can I get you anything, can I get you anything else, what can I do for you, my pleasure, and I will try harder next time!

It is doing things that you have not been asked to do: Picking up the paper on the floor, putting things back, turning the lights off when you leave, calling as a courtesy before you attempt to visit, etc.....

It is "doing what is right, when it is right, because it is the right thing to do" without thinking about what people will think about you.... doing what it right!

It is: being an example without being arrogant or drawing attention to your accomplishments.
